Eric Walton is a tremendously skilled musician with many many facets
to his professional skills. His piano playing and sight reading are
flawless. His music direction is rich with leadership, sensitivity,
attention to detail, wisdom, and understanding of singers and fellow
musicians. His work as a vocal coach has helped many performers to
make significant improvements, benefitting from his extensive
knowledge of music and theatre. As a vocal coach and voice teacher
myself, I would (and do) wholeheartedly recommend my students to Eric
as an accompanist and vocal coach when I cannot work with them myself.
Eric has also done work for me as an arranger. His great work and ease
with charts and transcriptions adds another component to Eric's very
well-rounded set of skills. On top of all of this, I think Eric is an
awesome guy that I think you will love working with. He is funny,
down-to-earth, likable, professional, and very easy to get along with.
I recommend him to you whether it's to music direct an upcoming
musical project, to create charts or transcriptions, or to work with
one-on-one.

Eric Walton knows his stuff! He has many ideas of songs for your book that are not overdone and fit your voice and personality. More importantly, he helps you to find the story behind each song and make it personal for you. He is very encouraging, very helpful, and I love being able to work with him!

Eric Walton has a welcome and permanent spot on my very short A-list. In summer 2008, he handled musical direction for a 6-week production of a full-length new work with a cast of 12, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES. Before we hired him, we knew he had all the requisite talents: ace reader, quick and accurate insight into the composer's intentions, great vocal coaching and actor support, solid understanding of musical dramaturgy. What came out during the work was his ability to gracefully roll with whatever punches came in, including daily score and script changes and a musically demanding composer. As conductor/accompanist, Eric made it look easy to simultaneously play 2 keyboards, run underscore cues on a minidisc player, play a midi-controller that generated choral voices, and conduct.
